In year 6 we have been looking at how regular 'er' verbs are formed in the present tense. The children are owning their learning this week, creating teaching aids to help teach others how to conjugate the verb 'recycler' in the present tense. Teaching others is the best way to consolidate your learning! Well done, Year 6! Can you demonstrate your learning with other 'er' verbs? Where would you look to find an 'er' verb?
The children in Year 6 were challenged to speak about their daily routine! A tricky topic, they did remarkably well, and their pronunciation is coming on fantastically! How would you change the phrases to the third person? Can you practice again on Linguascope.com?
The children have made a great start to their French learning in Year 6! We have been describing our houses and bedrooms and really focusing on the pronunciation of the vocabulary. We are now learning how to give opinions about subjects we like and don't' like at school. We are starting to give reasons for our opinions using the connective phrase 'parce que c'est...' - 'because it is...'. I have been very impressed with the fluency of the sentences - keep practising, Year 6!
The end of a wonderful term in Year 6. We've been writing letters to our new friends in JC this term! We spent some time recapping the vocabulary and phrases for introducing ourselves and created an interesting letter! We are eagerly awaiting our responses next term to practice our reading skills!
We have also been recapping some important topics ready for next year and have just completed the Weather topic! Practice building sentences about the weather in different placing by using the vocabulary mat below and by visiting Linguascope and playing on 'La Météo'. Super term overall, Year 6! We've certainly enhanced our writing skills this term by learning how to use a range of verbs and pronouns correctly! We described planets using third person as well as adjectives with agreements. Next term we will focus on our basic French skills for High School, starting with the Weather. Have a go at the following in preparation:
www.languageangels.com - Quel Temps Fait-Il? (The Weather) www.linguascope.com - Mon environnement/la météo Year 6 have been getting quite technical this term with their use of verbs! We've learnt how to conjugate a selection of regular er verbs as well as the irregular but common verbs, être (to be) and avoir (to have). This will allow the students to become more independent and creative with what they want to say and write about. We learnt the song below to help us remember 'avoir' and we made our own games to learn 'être'. We have also looked at using adjective agreements where necessary. Next lesson we will be applying all of this learning to help us write our own sentences to describe the planets in the solar system. Can you remember how to conjugate être and avoir in the third person?
Bonne année tout le monde! This week in Year 6 we have been discussing our new year's resolutions! The children have been adapting phrases to think of their own resolutions for 2019 as well as having a conversation with each other about them. Super targets Year 6! Next week we will be looking at what a fully conjugated verb looks like in the present tense!
Year 6 have had a wonderful term! We've completed our topic on school subjects and also recapped telling the time! Why not practice telling the time on linguascope over the holiday?
